We have updated AthTek Call Recorder for Skype to version 6.90 with some new features included. The new version is available for downloading since July 15, 2015. Sometimes the auto update could failed to work on your computer, but you can always download the latest version at our official website at any time you wish. All users including free trial users are allowed to download and use AthTek Call Recorder for Skype 6.90 for free. If you are using an old version of Call Recorder for Skype, we highly recommend you to download and install the latest version for Skype call recording. What’s New?
* Optimizes the hot keys section in hidden mode.
In previous version users can set the popup hot keys to any key on the keyboard, but sometimes the hot keys doesn’t work on some special keys. In AthTek Call Recorder for Skype v6.90 we limit it to 26 English letters and it will be easier for user to pop up the recorder on to desktop.

* Supports higher sample rates up to 48000Hz.
In AthTek Call Recorder for Skype v6.90, users are allowed to use maximum 48000Hz sample rate for broadcasting. If you are a broadcaster, this change will definitely produce better audio quality for your work. You can find this change in [Tools] > [Options…] > [Audio Encoder].

* Adds an option to start recording when answered.
As default, AthTek Call Recorder for Skype will start to record the call since you start the call. But if you have selected this option, recorder will start to record only when the call was answered.

* Intelligently speeds up the recorder when necessary.
The new AthTek Call Recorder for Skype will remind you to transfer the old recordings to another place when there were too many items or they took too much space. This will help you to speed up AthTek Call Recorder for Skype to get a better performance.

* Unselected auto notification is as a default.
In AthTek Call Recorder for Skype v6.90, we make the auto notification to be unselected as default. We found some users don’t even know this message will be sent out automatically when they were using AthTek Call Recorder for Skype, so that we decide to unselect it in the new version.

Parental control is a serious and complex project today, because the children are more likely to interact with the world than we have ever before. Like it or not, most of the children start surfing the Internet before 5 years old. As we all know that there would be a lot of adult content or even other dangerous things throughout the internet. Children maybe don’t know what they should read and what they shouldn’t. That’s why we need to performance parental control on our children.

We already have a parental control software and some other users use hidden mode of AthTek Skype Recorder for parental control. The new program will focus on Skype parental control and costs less money than the previous parental control software ($79). It has better stealth ability than hidden mode of AthTek Skype Recorder. The kids won’t know that their Skype accounts are under monitoring. We have added some popular social media links to the new AthTek Skype Recorder. You can now use these social media links to share your experiences in using AthTek Skype Recorder. If you want to send a feedback to us, you can also use these social media links including FaceBook, Twitter and Google+.

* Notification content changed;
Previously the content of auto notification would notify the contact that you wanted the Skype call. In the new version, your contact will be asked to answer your call immediately.

* Video call recording quality optimized.
We have optimized the video recording quality. You can now choose to record Skype calls in higher resolution videos.

When you have got your kids’ Skype connected to the recorder, you can now configure AthTek Skype Recorder for parental control. Please go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [General], you need to make the options as follow. Please make the recorder automatically start with Windows in case of missing any Skype call. Please unselect the option of “Show prompt messages in system tray” in case of box popup. Please unselect the option of “Check for updates…” in case of the update checker popup. Click [OK] to save the settings.

Then go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [Advanced] to enable Hidden Mode of AthTek Skype Recorder. Please select the option of “Hidden Mode” and unselect the option of “Notify the contact”. Below the Hidden Mode option, you can set hot keys to pop up the recorder. When AthTek Skype Recorder runs in Hidden Mode, it will be completely invisible on the desktop. These hot keys can help you to pop up the recorder to the desktop. Please remember that carefully. You’d better unselect the notification option before starting a parental control. If not, the contacts will be notified when your kids get through the Skype call. Then click [OK] to save your settings and start to use Hidden Mode.

When you have got everything ready for parental control, you can now let your kids to use this computer. After they have made Skype calls, you would be able to find the recordings in the saving path. You can set the folder as a Share Folder, then you would be able to access the saving path remotely from another computer. Quick easy, isn’t it?
