As children grow up, some parents suggest that children don’t listen to them at home. Even worse, some of the children finally have a rebellious mind against their parents in many things. In connection with this issue, I would like to put forward my suggestion: we should give the priority to the mutual respect and trust when we treat our children.

Some parents may think that they should bind their children despite respect and trust, or they will be brought up without disciplines. Therefore, they don’t pay attention to the recounts and demands of the children, and even scold them on inappropriate occasions, which wound children’s esteem and pride remarkably. Children will fear their parents a lot, and would not like to have heart-to-heart talk with them. Nevertheless, some other parents are in the charge of their children, and they would do whatever the children want them to do. They hope the children can obey them through the twisted love. Sometimes, they even make efforts to shield their children’s shortcomings, lie for them, and over-praise them, which can also result in the suppression of their esteem. Once the children discover the fact, they will feel deceived and irritated. The cumulative result is that children will lose their respect and trust for their parents, so they would not be obedient either. Therefore, how should parents do to show their respect and trust for their children? There are some important tips for you.

First, parents should respect the dignity of the children. If they have done something good or accomplish a task well, parents should let them know that they have done it right and encourage them to continue to do it. Certainly, the praise should be proper without any exaggeration, and parents should especially avoid over-praising the children in front of other people. If they have done some detrimental things or just mess it up, parents should give their own opinions and criticisms. Sometimes, they can take some measures to punish the children so that they will learn a lesson from it.

Second, when children are confronted with some difficulties, including those in learning, in living, or in dealing with some trivial matters with their friends, it should be reminded that parents mustn’t do it for them and even scold them as fools. They should evaluate the situation thoroughly, and give them some instructions on how to do things for themselves. The children will have confidence that they can do it and they will make efforts to achieve it. Through this way, children can draw a lot of self-satisfaction and confidence in accomplishing a task.

Third, parents can make children their assistance and adviser. They can consciously conduct discussion over some household matters with the children. When they give good advice or do a great job, remember to thank them and grant some rewards to them. Even if they mess things up, don’t scold them but tell them how to do it correctly.

In all, for the children’s own stuff, as long as they are capable of doing it and should do it, parents should let them do it by themselves. It is harmful if the parents constantly exhibit the “let me do it for you ” behavior towards children. If parents don’t ” rule with a high hand ” and let the children think that their parents are as trustful as their friends and that they are helpful to this family, they will like the family and their parents. They are inclined to have heart-to-heart talk with their parents and always willing to receive their parents’ help. That would be perfect parental control.

Free Download PDF Version Of This Article

Many parents have special programs to their children to cultivate their good habits or improve their ability during a certain period. It is more common when there is a holiday of more than ten days, if made use of effectively, which could benefit the children a lot, and even make a brand-new appearance of them. The alternatives are of a great variety, including practicing oral language, reading several literature works, writing several book reports, picking up the play of a new instrument, and etc. However, will these special programs really achieve favorable effect at the end of the period? If not, how can we ameliorate the system? I have several important tips for you.

First and foremost, remember this: do what you children do. To elaborate on it, parents who just send out the task and leave their children alone can never be called wise as children may grow tired and annoyed when they do their tasks alone day after day. The greatest help from parents seems indispensable at the time, and it is the best that they accompany their children if it is possible. I would like to cite my own experience. When my child was still in primary school, I used to spend a whole summer holiday together with him. His task was that every day he must read literature works for eight hours. You may think it’s too demanding for a child. But just keep the significant tip I just give you: you can accompany him when he undergoes it. If you just leave him alone, he would never concentrate on it and would possibly bargain about it. Therefore, what you need to do is just do the same thing as him. Then you can argue that you two are studying together and you can make it clear that the reading is beneficial to him as well as to you. Certainly, you can have breaks and share your opinions. And on the other hand, the common experience can serve as a special connection between you, which help you two communicate effectively. That would be a quality parental control.

Another important tip is to make your “studying contract” with your children. It is wise to list all items that are included in your special program. As far as I am concerned, there are major three parts: the daily schedule, the dos and don’ts, and the awards and punishments. Certainly, you can add your personalized items, such as the online time limits and some leisure activities. What is good to establish a contract is that the children have no ground to bargain with you about their tasks when you can point out the specific clauses and proclaim that they “outlaw”. One quick tip: make the contract as binding as possible. Many solutions can be adopted to do so. You can print it out in papers with the signature of your two, and the third person (usually the father) can be appointed as a witness. The more emphasis you have put on the contract, the more binding it will be.

Now, you may get some new inspirations about how to get your children fully involved in your special program. You can just try it and the outcome can never be too satisfactory. If you haven’t ever planned such programs, give it a shot and wait to be amazed by your own masterpiece.

The fact that many children are not inclined to tell their parents about the things they have done in school or outside home. Be aware that it is a dangerous sign that they are concealing things from you, which is detrimental to the right cultivation of your children. According to my experience and some helpful tips from my colleagues, I’d like to give you some tips about how to effectively make children to tell everything to their parents so that parents can be well informed of the growth of their child.

Good habits should be cultivated when the child is still very young. Every day after the kid comes back from the kindergarten, don’t just leave them alone doing some homework or watching TV. It is meaningful to spend some time together to talk what has happened during his/her day in school. You may raise questions like this “What interesting things happened today?”, “Do you make some new friends today? ”. With those kinds of question, kids can get the information that their parents are interested in their stuff and willing to share with them. The most important thing is that you must take the period of time a sacred moment, a moment of bonding and sharing, instead of something that is just a burden or a task. Once the talk has been set as a routine, you may have the knowledge whatever your kids do in school and you can be of great help to bring them on the right track of life.

Second, it is necessary for parents to get knowledge of all things that your children like. Now kids get a lot of stimulus from the outside of the world, and they are overwhelmed by an unprecedented amount of information. It is essential for parents to keep pace with them. If your kids like anime, you can try to watch what he is watching, even if you don’t like it, so the two of you can have something to share with each other. Otherwise, they just think that you two didn’t common language. In the case that your children are addicted to something harmful, such as the video games, you can play it yourself and express your opinions, as it is more likely for them to accept their “buddy’s” opinions. To keep pace with your children is another critical tip for successful parents.

Last but not the least, one more suggestions for those whose children seem to have already set up their mind to estrange their parents. If the situation has been deteriorated to a severe one, parents should take some unusual measures for their kids’ sake. For example, their grades are dropping strikingly and the teacher informs you of their extreme mischief in school. What’s worse your children never want to give any explanation about it. You may take measures, such as spying his internet-using activities by installing a parental control software. It is believed that these measures should be taken only under particular situations.

I hope that those tips will give you some enlightenment on how to communicate and get along well with your kids. Just keep trying and just put your heart into the life task, and you can draw a lot of fun from it, too.

The internet is full of charm for youngsters. Online games, chatting, relationships, and the abundance of information may lead the youngsters to spend more and more time online. However how can parents deal with it? As an educator who works on the education of primary school and high school students, I have several suggestions for parents who are in the troubles.

When the children have just contacted the internet, parents should establish an agreement with the children about the time limit and conditions of surfing on the net. (Do you need serums? find out on amazon vitamin c serum and take care your skin)

If the children spend so much time on the internet that they can’t finish their homework or the housework in time, it is necessary for the parents to limit the time he or she spends on the internet, or tear him from the internet. At present, provided that the burden of studies for students has already been very heavy, one hour each day on the internet is surely enough. Besides, the parents must remind the students that if they need to use the internet for some assignments, such as searching for the materials for class presentation, they should tell the parents beforehand. It is worth mentioning that the more determinedly parents implement their rules, the more binding the rules will be. However, if they allow the children to “outlaw” a lot, or bargain about the internet-using time, then the rules will gradually lose their positions.

The parents should define what the children are forbidden to see online

Parents should instruct the children that the world online is just like the real world with good stuff mixed with bad stuff, such as sex, violence, and cheat. The parents should tell the children surfing on the internet is part of the real life, so when they are online, they should avoid the unhealthy stuff self-consciously, and even if you are confronted with them, they must learn to distinguish right from wrong.

The parents can undertake some usual measures when the children are deeply addicted, especially when the parents are not well informed of what they are doing.

Nowadays, there are a lot of children who surf on the internet playing video games, browsing sex-related websites, or falling into online relationship. Unfortunately, most parents are not aware of what their children do at their absence. In this situation, you can find some ways to check the dialog records up to find out what they are doing. As to how to check out his dialog contents, there are various kinds of doing so, and you just have to search it on the internet. One of the good ways is to install the keyloger on the computer to record their activities on the computer. But keep in mind don’t undertake such measures unless the very severe situations are detected, or you will cause the tension between you and your children.

All in all, too much time spent on the internet is detrimental to the growth of the children. And at last, I suggest the parents arrange some other wholesome activities, such as sports, painting, and traveling. Those activities can enhance the bonding and trust between parents and children. And in turn, the more children trust and favor their parents, the more effective the rules on internet will be. That is the real purpose for parental control.

Lee was a student in Grade Two at a key senior high school in Wuhan. By chance, his parents found that he had no more interest in learning, and no long after that, he even ran away from home. Though his parents found and brought him home anyway, the relationship between them was still in tension. However, soon an astonishing thing happened: Lee attempted to wound his father with a knife. This is an introduction of a television program I have read recently, which makes me wonder what extent of deep hatred can lead a child to hold a knife towards his father. My doubts were gone when the program proceeded, and the culprit was the addiction to the computer games.

With the advancing of our society, children nowadays have easier approach to the computer, with which a lot of problems emerge as well. The flooding of information on the internet is mixed with good and evil, and children are likely to be led astray: the addiction to video games, the bad habit to scan porn, unwillingness to study, and so on. If correct measures haven’t been taken in time, it is detrimental to the growth of children. Here, I’d like to share some great ways to protect the children from addiction to the internet, or more specifically, computer games. Let’s take steps to perform a good parental control as follow:

1. Place the computer in the shared room.

Don’t put the computer in the children’s own room. The children should be aware that the computer is not their own property, but a shared thing for the whole family, which could, of course, cut the time consumed on the computer. Meanwhile, parents can encourage children to use it for the sake of study, share good experience with the family.

2. Make a schedule for the children using the computer.

Parents should reach a contract with children through friendly negotiation instead of simple command to make the daily schedule for the children. If they have sisters or brothers, the schedule will help them solve the dispute over the allocation of using time. Parents can also resort to related software or alarms to limit the time consumption.

3. Build their confidence in studying

There is a profound relationship between the addiction to the video game and the achievement in studying. Therefore, lack of confidence is sometimes a major reason for students plunging themselves to the game. Compared with forcing children who addict to the game to give it up, the approach of building their confidence in studying seems more effective. Parents can achieve it by giving detailed instruction on children’s study. Besides, to release the pressure of study, parents should take the children’s interest into consideration and lift their pressure by ways of reading, sports, and talking.

4. Explain the reasons for restrictions on computer games through talking

If the children have played computer games for a whole day, it will dig a gap between parents and children when the parents just reprimand them and power off the computer. Compared with imperiously tearing the children from the computer, it is feasible to talking with them about the strengths and drawbacks of computer games.

Faced with the internet, the two-edged sword, parents should attach enough importance on instructing children to take advantage of it. Only in this way, can we prevent the occurrence of the Lee’s tragedy from happening again.

Free Download This article in PDF format

The society is moving towards not backwards, so children are exposed to an environment with a variety of new stimulus, which may be brand-new information to the parents. Therefore, it is essential for parents to have the awareness of constant learning new things to keep pace with their children. Especially, as the internet now played a big part in children’s extracurricular life, it becomes urgent for parents to acquire the ability to give instructions to their children about how to use the internet in a right way.

Compared with adults, children and youngsters confront with few obstacles, which surprises and confuses many adults. The real experience for adults is that they have become the “students” of their children after the computer purchase. In a journal published in 1995, there was an article with the name of “Children Have All Got onto the Information Superhighway. Oh, God! They Are On the seats of Drivers!” And that is the fact we are faced today.

In my opinion, one of the best suggestions is that you need to make efforts to keep pace with them and bond with them so that you can discuss the growing pains together. Certainly, it iss easy to say it, but it is also what today’s parents have to do. Just imagine this: there are various books lying on the stall, mixed with good books, bad books, and boring ones, but you are illiterate and could do nothing but let the children pick what they like, how do you feel? The important things are presented in the following aspects also.

First, parents can only know what the computer or internet can do, and fully understand the computer culture when they operate on them themselves. Parents who get a good knowledge of internet can share their opinions about how to purchase floppies and light disks, and they can really assume the responsibility for cultivating their children.

Secondly, parents can take the opportunities to improve their own life. They can achieve modernization themselves, and at the same time it is also a good way to eliminate the generation gap.

Thirdly, keeping pace with your children can avail you of the opportunities to broaden your life. You will be greatly involved in the modern life as a participant rather than a by-stander.

In all, when parents and children sit together in front of the computer, exploring in the world of the internet, they become the real friends who can learn a lot from each other. Learning from the children, parents can retrieve their inside value once again; Growing together with children, it’s the best fortunes for our generation. That is the successful parental control.

Along with the time progress, the ways teenagers get contacted with the society have become more and more various, ranging from calling through mobile phones to surfing on the internet. Meanwhile, the risk of contacting peril influence from the society has improved greatly, which is the parents’ major concern.

To protect their children from making friends with bad guys, get knowledge of what they are thinking, many parents are undertaking some ways, such as monitoring their instant messaging, chat sessions by installing monitoring software. It is effective to exert parental control in this way. However, once those actions may irritate the children and even get their resistance to the parents. Therefore, the kind willingness to monitor should also put an emphasis on methods. Here come some effective tips for the parents:

1. Talk to them straightforwardly.
Parents can speak to them in a proper situation. You can tell them what you are expecting they do and don’t on the internet, and that they should use internet as a tool to get self-improved.

2. Write to them
The same effect can be achieved simultaneously by writing them a letter or short messages. Many parents may find it difficult to speak to the children about the issue without proper time and chances, so it is advisable to write to them about what they are worried about and expecting for.

3. Make an internet-using contract.
Parents can talk directly to students about the issues of using internet. They can get children’s agreement to ways of behaving and finding out what they need from the internet. This is the forming of a an internet-using contract and subjects covered can include such things as which sites are forbidden, how much time they should spend on internet a day, what parents expecting for their learning on internet.

In all, instead of invading children’s privacy, parents who deal openly and honestly about their good intention may be of help a lot.

The summer vacation has been expired and kids are beginning to return to school. They have an interesting long vacation at home under your strict parental control. When they were at home, you knew almost everything what they did. Most of them didn’t like this but had no way to avoid your parental control. But now they are returning to school, and you are not able to keep an eye on your kids every minutes. They feel exciting that they finally escape from the “prison” and can do everything they want without asking your permission. Can they really escape from your parental control? No! They Wish!

While the priest climbs a post, the devil climbs ten. They won’t want to know that you can still know everything about them instantly even they have gone to China! The only thing you need to do is to put monitoring software into their computer. Monitoring software is something which can help you with parental control remotely. It is invisible to the computer user, and can send you their activities instantly. You can easily know everything around them, including websites they have visited, programs they have run, people they have talked to (via Skype, MSN or ICQ), post they have wrote on FaceBook or Twitter, emails they have sent and pictures they have viewed, etc. That is what parental control software can do and should do. They would never know that they are still under your parental control unless you tell them!

Actually, we are not willing to restrain those kids, we just love them so much and want to see them grown up with happiness. We have to help them when they are facing problems in their lives even they don’t tell us their troubles. That’s why we do parental control. Sooner or later, you will find what they have said from the messages, that how much they love you…
