* Fix the bug in video call recording;
Skype upgraded its APIs in version 7.0 and sometimes our Skype Recorder software didn’t start recording the video call automatically. When we received this report, we tested it on several machines then finally found what the problem was. On December 18 we released a new version which perfectly solved this problem.

* Support to compress file size for audio recording.
With the new version, the audio will be compressed to a smaller size in video call recording. This means that the recorded video file size will become smaller but the quality is the same as before.

Do you know that you can rewrite or turn off the auto notification in AthTek Skype Recorder? In this article, you will read how to manage the auto notification easily. Now please open AthTek Skype Recorder and go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [Advanced]. You will be able to rewrite or turn off the auto notification in “Notify The Contact” area.

1. How to rewrite the auto notification message.
You can rewrite the contact in auto notification area directly as you wish. For example, you can rewrite it as “Hello, I am XXX. I’d like to have a Skype call with you now. If you are not free to answer my call, please hang up directly. Thanks.” After then, please click button OK to save your customized message.

2. Turn off the auto notification message.
You can also turn off the automatic notification message if you don’t want to send any message to the contact. Simply deselect option of “Notify The Contact” and the notification message won’t be sent out any more. But please note that, only a licensed version supports to turn off the automatic notification message and save the settings.

* Supports to work on the latest version of Skype;
Skype changed its APIs in November without any notification and many 3rd-party ceased to work on Skype 6.22. We have received some feedbacks about this issue. Now we released AthTek Skype Recorder v6.16 which is compatible with Skype 6.22. You can still record calls on Skype 6.22 with the new version.

* Optimizes registration notification frequency;
We deleted some registration popups in the trial version. So that you can have a better trial experience in AthTek Skype Recorder v6.16.

* Shows wave in Skype call recording.
When you are recording Skype calls with the latest version, you will see the sound wave in recording bar.

If Skype still cannot find AthTek Skype Recorder or Voice Changer for Skype on your computer, please quit all these programs and restart them as administrator. How to start a program as administrator? Right click on the program’s startup file (*.exe) and choose “Run as administrator”. Generally, if you run Skype as administrator, all problems will be solved.

Now, let’s open AthTek Skype Recorder and go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [Audio]. You will see a “Saving path” near the bottom line. Click to change saving path to the sub-folder audio you have just created in Dropbox, then all the audio recordings by AthTek Skype Recorder will be saved into this folder automatically.

Let’s open AthTek Skype Recorder and go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [Video]. You will see a “Save video recordings to” near the bottom line. Click to change the saving path to the sub-folder video you have just created in Dropbox, then all the video recordings will be saved into this folder automatically.

After you have changed the saving paths, all the new Skype call recordings will be saved in Dropbox automatically. Dropbox will upload these folders and files to its cloudy server and synchronize them to any device with your Dropbox account. You can make a Skype call on your computer and check your Dropbox account on mobile phone to test that. You will be able to listen to the Skype call recordings remotely. Dropbox has a strict secure storage level, and you can save Skype call recordings as private online files in it. Unless you want to share them with your friends, anyone else cannot catch the files in Dropbox’s cloudy server.

3. Upload Skype call recordings automatically. 2. Fill in the form in FTP Uploader of AthTek Skype Recorder.
Basically, you need to fill in the web server’s address, port, FTP account username and password, then you would be able to upload the Skype call recordings directly by AthTek Skype Recorder. Sometimes business user has higher security requirements in uploading files. They can use encryption mode to upload files safely. They can also use an FTP proxy to hide the real address. If you have no idea about these options, please leave them as default. It is recommended to test the FTP connection after configuration.

Maybe a Skype call now and the recording files will be automatically uploaded to the web server. You will be able to download and edit them at any time any place with an internet connection.

2. You can use Dropbox to synchronize Skype call recordings remotely. Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. You can just reset the saving path to Dropbox on the computer and then you will be able to login your account and listen to the Skype call recordings remotely. 3. You can use FTP Uploader to upload Skype call recordings to a web server. This method requires a web hosting account. An FTP account will be provided within web server account. You can register a web server account from any web hosting providers. Then you can fill in FTP Uploader with your FTP account details. When you complete a Skype call, the recordings will be automatically uploaded to the web server. You can download the Skype call recordings from web server remotely.
