We have released a new version of AthTek Skype Recorder which has solved a compatible bug in video call recording. Now AthTek Skype Recorder is totally compatible with any version of Skype from v3.0. If you are using an old version of AthTek Skype Recorder, please upgrade your version to v6.18 and you will definitely have a better experience in video call recordings. * Fix the bug in video call recording;
Skype upgraded its APIs in version 7.0 and sometimes our Skype Recorder software didn’t start recording the video call automatically. When we received this report, we tested it on several machines then finally found what the problem was. On December 18 we released a new version which perfectly solved this problem.

* Support to compress file size for audio recording.
With the new version, the audio will be compressed to a smaller size in video call recording. This means that the recorded video file size will become smaller but the quality is the same as before.

How to Manage the Auto Notification Function of Skype Recorder

[PDF] When you start a Skype call, your contact will receive an auto message from AthTek Skype Recorder to ask for permission. This is used for legally Skype call recording. As default, the auto message is:

Hello, please answer my call.

Do you know that you can rewrite or turn off the auto notification in AthTek Skype Recorder? In this article, you will read how to manage the auto notification easily. Now please open AthTek Skype Recorder and go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [Advanced]. You will be able to rewrite or turn off the auto notification in “Notify The Contact” area.

1. How to rewrite the auto notification message.
You can rewrite the contact in auto notification area directly as you wish. For example, you can rewrite it as “Hello, I am XXX. I’d like to have a Skype call with you now. If you are not free to answer my call, please hang up directly. Thanks.” After then, please click button OK to save your customized message.

2. Turn off the auto notification message.
You can also turn off the automatic notification message if you don’t want to send any message to the contact. Simply deselect option of “Notify The Contact” and the notification message won’t be sent out any more. But please note that, only a licensed version supports to turn off the automatic notification message and save the settings.

Important Notice About AthTek Applications for Skype

Since Skype released the latest version 6.22, many 3rd-party applications for Skype ceased to work on the latest version. We have received some reports about this issue and have tested both AthTek Skype Recorder and Skype Voice Changer on the new Skype v6.22. We found that our applications for Skype cannot work on Skype v6.22. Please downgrade your Skype to v6.21 (free download) and you would be able to use both AthTek Skype Recorder and Skype Voice Changer again on any older version Skype. We are still looking for a solution to this issue and hope to release the compatible versions in a few days.

How to downgrade Skype to V6.21?

Step.1 Uninstall Skype v6.22. Please go to [Start] > [Control Panel] > [Programs and Features]. Find Skype v6.22 and select to uninstall.

Step.2 Download and install Skype 6.21. Please click to download Skype v6.21 and install it to your computer.

Step.3 Run AthTek Skype Recorder or Skype Voice Changer and you will be able to use any of them on Skype 6.21 without problem.

Basically, you need to fill in the web server’s address, port, FTP account username and password, then you would be able to upload the Skype call recordings directly by AthTek Skype Recorder. Sometimes business user has higher security requirements in uploading files. They can use encryption mode to upload files safely. They can also use an FTP proxy to hide the real address.
