* Fix a bug in auto notification.
Aaleyah Daoud reported that even he unselected the notification option, the contact will also receive the notification. We found a bug in notification and got it fixed now.

[PDF] Yesterday we have posted that Skype updated its announcement about Skype Desktop API which stated that they would be extending support for the most widely used feature – Skype call recording and hardware compatibility. Unfortunately, AthTek Voice Changer for Skype wasn’t covered in this update and they (Skype) didn’t provide any alternative for this change. Maybe you have already seen the popup message when you run AthTek Voice Changer for Skype with the latest version Skype. It shows that AthTek Voice Changer for Skype will cease to work in December 2013. We feel really sorry about that we are not able to make AthTek Voice Changer for Skype to be compatible with Skype v6.9 or higher. If you want to use AthTek Voice Changer for Skype, you would have to downgrade your Skype to v6.8 and turn off the auto update of it (how).

Anyway, there still be opportunities to make Skype continuously support voice changer functions in the future — Skype still needs your feedback about what features you would like to see in the future and you can tell them that you need to use AthTek Voice Changer for Skype! You can submit your feedback in Skype’s community, FaceBook page and Twitter page. Once Skype realized that many people would like to use AthTek Voice Changer for Skype, they will enable the voice changing function again on the new Skype versions. As I have mentioned a few weeks ago, Skype will stop its APIs in December 2013. Skype Desktop APIs were used by 3rd-party developers (like us) in creating apps for Skype. We are not happy for this but we already got a solution to this issue. If you are using Skype v6.9 or v6.10 these days, you might see the warning message on Skype which stated that SkypeRecorder.exe would cease to work after December. If you have read our previous announcement you should already know that we got prepared for this and would release a new version of AthTek Skype Recorder to support new Skype versions. Now it is coming!


The new AthTek Skype Recorder has almost the same functions as before, and it would be able to work together with any Skype version you can have. But I have to say that I still like the previous version AthTek Skype Recorder. With Skype Desktop APIs, it can perfectly record Skype calls for both business and individual use. If Skype doesn’t stop its APIs in previous Skype versions (such as v6.8), you can still use AthTek Skype Recorder v6.0 for video and audio call recording. Then you need to downgrade your Skype to v6.8. If Skype stops its desktop APIs for all the Skype versions, you would have to install the new AthTek Skype Recorder by then. We will transfer your license to the new version instantly.

Skype have announced that they will remove the Desktop API from Skype for Windows Desktop, Skype for Mac and Skype for Linux. In addition they have announced the decommissioning of SkypeKit, a tookit with which Skype was integrated into hardware devices such as TVs. We are particularly shocked about this because of the short notice given to Skype users and the fact that Skype is not providing any replacement/successor interface model which will allow us to further provide the functionality you are enjoying today. You have to find us by Google searching or any other place rather than Skype App Directory. Obviously, the most convenient way to get our applications for Skype is to visit our official website and find the app you want to use.

Additionally, we have already got ready for the changes and will release new applications for Skype before December 2013. Some people (Skype 6.9 users) have received a popup warning message which shows the application will stop working since December. It actually should be “Skype will stop the desktop APIs for 3rd-party application developers.” The fact is that we don’t need to use the desktop APIs to record Skype calls and change voice pitch.
