We have updated AthTek Call Recorder for Skype to version 6.90 with some new features included. The new version is available for downloading since July 15, 2015. Sometimes the auto update could failed to work on your computer, but you can always download the latest version at our official website at any time you wish. All users including free trial users are allowed to download and use AthTek Call Recorder for Skype 6.90 for free. What’s New?
* Optimizes the hot keys section in hidden mode.
In previous version users can set the popup hot keys to any key on the keyboard, but sometimes the hot keys doesn’t work on some special keys. In AthTek Call Recorder for Skype v6.90 we limit it to 26 English letters and it will be easier for user to pop up the recorder on to desktop.

* Supports higher sample rates up to 48000Hz.
In AthTek Call Recorder for Skype v6.90, users are allowed to use maximum 48000Hz sample rate for broadcasting. If you are a broadcaster, this change will definitely produce better audio quality for your work. You can find this change in [Tools] > [Options…] > [Audio Encoder].

* Adds an option to start recording when answered.
As default, AthTek Call Recorder for Skype will start to record the call since you start the call. But if you have selected this option, recorder will start to record only when the call was answered.

* Intelligently speeds up the recorder when necessary.
The new AthTek Call Recorder for Skype will remind you to transfer the old recordings to another place when there were too many items or they took too much space. This will help you to speed up AthTek Call Recorder for Skype to get a better performance.

* Unselected auto notification is as a default.
In AthTek Call Recorder for Skype v6.90, we make the auto notification to be unselected as default. We found some users don’t even know this message will be sent out automatically when they were using AthTek Call Recorder for Skype, so that we decide to unselect it in the new version.

Skype Parental Control (SkypePC) is a Windows program for parents whose kids who use Skype. It runs invisibly on the kids’ computer and record what ever they talk over Skype. It will send the recordings to parents through email automatically. Even the parents were in China, they can get timely Skype usage reports of their kids through email. SkypePC uses 2-Step Verification to protect itself from detecting. Even the kids accidentally pressed the hot keys, they cannot pop up SkypePC without a correct unlock password. The new version of AthTek Skype Recorder will solve the problem in audio and video call syncing. Previously when working with the latest version of Skype, the video recording may stop syncing audio recording some times. The new version of AthTek Skype Recorder will get this problem solved.

Some users cannot register AthTek Skype Recorder correctly because the PC Code has disappeared. In the new version, we will fix this issue.

Now you can delete the contacts which you don’t want to record Skype calls from them. Simply select multiple contacts and then click Delete to do that. If you don’t want to record Skype calls from people who are not your contacts, please uncheck the option of “Auto Record Unknown Contacts”.

Press OK to save the settings. Now, only the Skype calls from listed contacts will be recorded and saved automatically. If you want to get the default settings back, simply press the button Add All and all the contacts will be added to Auto-record List.

* Supports to test video call recording.
AthTek Skype Recorder v6.50 supports to test video call recording. With any of previous versions, users can test Skype audio call recording with Echo. Since AthTek Skype Recorder v6.50, users can also test Skype video call recording with Echo. When it was the first time to record Skype video call, user will see a video test link in “Recent Video” tab. Click on the link user will start a call test with Echo and AthTek Skype Recorder will record the chat as video.

* Supports to record Skype window in audio call.
In Tools > options… > Video > Video Recording Mode, users will see a new option of “Auto record Skype window even an audio call.” If user chose this option, AthTek Skype Recorder will record Skype’s screen in video even if it was an audio call.

* Be compatible with Skype 7.1.
Skype changed its APIs again in Skype 7.1 and some of the recording features involved. We have to make a progress to be compatible to the latest version of Skype. hat’s New?
* Fix the bug in video call recording;
Skype upgraded its APIs in version 7.0 and sometimes our Skype Recorder software didn’t start recording the video call automatically. When we received this report, we tested it on several machines then finally found what the problem was. On December 18 we released a new version which perfectly solved this problem.

* Support to compress file size for audio recording.
With the new version, the audio will be compressed to a smaller size in video call recording. This means that the recorded video file size will become smaller but the quality is the same as before.

Do you know that you can rewrite or turn off the auto notification in AthTek Skype Recorder? In this article, you will read how to manage the auto notification easily. Now please open AthTek Skype Recorder and go to [Tools] > [Options…] > [Advanced]. You will be able to rewrite or turn off the auto notification in “Notify The Contact” area.

1. How to rewrite the auto notification message.
You can rewrite the contact in auto notification area directly as you wish. For example, you can rewrite it as “Hello, I am XXX. I’d like to have a Skype call with you now. If you are not free to answer my call, please hang up directly. Thanks.” After then, please click button OK to save your customized message.

2. Turn off the auto notification message.
You can also turn off the automatic notification message if you don’t want to send any message to the contact. Simply deselect option of “Notify The Contact” and the notification message won’t be sent out any more. But please note that, only a licensed version supports to turn off the automatic notification message and save the settings.
