Most of time, real-time and postmortem analysis share the same template to analyze the traffic data. Real-time traffic analysis shows dynamic trends of the entire network, while postmortem traffic analysis shows exactly what has happened in this network. In this article, you will read the main differences between real-time traffic analysis and packet analysis in AthTek NetWalk. Continue reading →

[PDF] AthTek NetWalk supports both real-time and postmortem analysis. Do you know what the differences are? Most of time, real-time and postmortem analysis shares the same template to analyze the traffic data. Real-time traffic analysis shows dynamic trends of the entire network, while postmortem traffic analysis shows exactly what has happened in this network. In this article, you will read the main differences between real-time traffic analysis and packet analysis in AthTek NetWalk.

1. Overview.
In Overview section, real-time traffic shows current bandwidth usage and accumulated traffic data. But if you opened a captured packet in AthTek NetWalk, you will see fixed values of the network traffic and these values tell you exactly what has happened during the capturing period.

2. Packets.
When you opened a captured file in AthTek NetWalk, you will see a new tab named “Packets” created on left. Real-time traffic analysis doesn’t support Packets tab. In Packets tab, network administrators can read all the communication details including requested IP addresses, ports, protocol, etc. If a common packet analyzer enables network administrator to see a naked data, AthTek NetWalk enables users to see a reliable anatomical traffic data through detail and hex view tool.

3. Layered View.
There are 3 layers in Layered View section: Application, Net&Transport and Physical. A significant different is, you can see communication flows in postmortem packet analysis.

4. Events Tab.
In Events tab, network administrator can jump to the communication flow when it is a postmortem packet analysis.

5. Matrix Map.
In Matrix Map, real-time analysis only marks active connections in green, while postmortem analysis marks all successful connections in green.

In short, postmortem analysis enables network administrators to see all communication details happened on the network. All you need to do is to capture packets and open the captured file in AthTek NetWalk.

COM (Component Object Model) is Microsoft’s component software architecture developed primarily for Windows. It is the foundation upon which OLE and ActiveX are based, and provides a means to re-use code without requiring re-compilation. In COM, a component is a platform-specific binary file that compliant applications and other components can utilize. Programs incorporating a component’s services never have access to its internal data structure, but instead include pointers to its standardized interface. Thus, it is possible for components to interact with each other regardless of how they work or what language they are written in. ActiveX, OLE/COM produces many registry problems on Windows system.

Application Paths are used for storing keys and values of Windows applications. If some application ceases to work on your Windows, you can clean and optimize this registry hive to fix the application problem.

Empty Registry keys are when a program of software has made a ‘folder’ and either never filled it with contents or has been uninstalled and the ‘folder’ remains but has no contents. They are harmless. Just take up a little space. It might also slow down certain processes if there are too many empty and useless keys. No matter what registry cleanup tool you are using, empty registry keys will certainly be removed in registry cleaning.

[PDF] The hot summer of 2014 is coming, are you ready for that? Maybe you were considering going outside to find a cool place to spend the hot summer. But if you dislike hanging out, how can you make yourself feel cool? Some good cool music will help you to get the temperature down in an acceptable way. In this article, I will introduce how to create original cool music by in several steps on your computer. You will feel cool and have fun with the original music you created! First of all, please just image what will make you feel cool. Generally, a calm lake will make you feel cool. Grand forest will make you feel cool. Clean beach will make you feel cool. Just close your eyes and have that in mind. Have you heard some background music comes from a far away place in your mind? You can just enjoy it. We call that “inspiration”. Now can you remember what the music sounds like? What instruments have been used, piano, guitar or strings? In my experience, piano can produce pure and cool effects in nature. Let’s take piano as the instrument to create cool music on computer. Let’s open AthTek DigiBand and select [make an accompaniment] to start. There are 6 options listed on the start screen. [make an accompaniment] will help you to create a pure accompaniment automatically. A pure accompaniment will cater to your hot heart (as main vocal) and cool it down. Generally, sadness, peaceful, memory, loneliness, silence and clean can produce cool effects in music creation. Let’s choose peaceful as the musical emotion in AthTek DigiBand. Usually cool music has a slow beat and BMP (beat per minute), let’s choose 4/4 beat and 80 BMP in this case. You can also choose a new music structure if needed. After these configurations, please press [Auto composition] button to generate the music. In the editing screen, please delete any other instruments except for piano, and then it will produce pure piano music as we need. Listen to the music you have just created. If you are not satisfied with it, you can click the refresh button at the beginning of track to change it. If it was cool music you want, you can now export it as .wav or .mid file. Now you have already got the cool music for the hot summer. Download and install AthTek DigiBand now to create your cool music for the hot summer 2014!

Generally you can design a flowchart for programming with pencil and paper. People usually use flowchart drawing tool to design flowcharts for programming. There are many flowchart drawing tool through internet searching. A free flowchart drawing tool is enough for your use.

If you want to design a standard technical flowchart for writing program and explaining program to others, I will recommend you to use AthTek Flowchart to Code Converter. You can design a standard technical flowchart with this software. It doesn’t like any other flowchart drawing tool which cannot design a standard flowchart for programming. AthTek Flowchart to Code Converter provides a straight way to design a flowchart in programming. Software developer only needs to click the code tree in left area, and the standard flowchart will be created. What’s more, AthTek Flowchart to Code Converter supports to generate source code (in C/C++/C#/Java/JavaScript/Delphi) directly by the flowchart.
Sometimes your little prank just goes out of the line and makes others feel sick. Your April fool’s joke sucks and you were the only fool in the world then. In the following cases you will read how people messed up big time.

1. Say “I love you” to the one you really love on April Fools’ Day, and get refused seriously. Yes you can respond “Happy April Fools’ Day!” to defuse the awkward situation, but nothing can comfort your broken heart. This is one of the saddest April Fools’ Day pranks but happens every year. Never show your love on April Fools’ Day!

2. Similar to the first one– make a proposal on April Fools’ Day. No one will like to accept marriage proposal as a joke. If you took this as a joke, there must be someone feel hurt. If you took this as an official proposal, you will get a joke. Never make a proposal on April Fools’ Day!

3. Pretending to be a stranger to flirt with your spouse. You probably want to hear how much he/she loves his/her husband/wife and how he/she refuses the stranger’s philander. But this is only in your own wishful thinking! Someone has installed AthTek Voice Changer for Skype and flirt with his wife, and then she told him she was single… Never pretend to be a stranger to flirt with your spouse on April Fools’ Day!

4. Play computer pranks but cannot recover it. More and more people play computer pranks on April Fools’ Day. An awful prank is, you have some very important files in the computer, but someone messed up all stuff. Even worse, no one can recovery those important files after a good laugh. Never touch my computer on April Fools’ Day!

5. Tell your parents you were dying. This is the worst prank I’ve have heart. You know your parents love you so much and they wish nothing but the best for you. Your lie will make the prank for April Fools’ Day become frenzied. It’s not funny at all. Never hurt your parents on April Fools’ Day!

Have you got prepared with your April Fools’ Day? Please don’t let April Fools’ Day goes bad.

April Fools' Day is coming soon. Have you got prepared for pranks? In April Fools' Day, your friends will definitely play pranks on you and if you can't see through those tricks in time, you will be ridiculed to the bottom. In April Fools' Day, you should be careful of the people around you. Anyone of them could be the pranker who plays tricks on you. But if you still be fooled like a duck when you were enough alertness, that would be a great prank for April Fools' Day. Continue reading →

Besides being alert with pranks, you should also prepare some pranks which can be played on your family, friends or colleagues. Following are some nice computer pranks you can play.

1. Capture a whole desktop screenshot on his/her computer and set it as wallpaper. Also you need to delete all the icons on his/her desktop including the Recycle Bin, and hide the taskbar deeply. When he/she came back to use the computer, he/she will find nothing is clickable. Even he/she rebooted the computer, nothing changed!

2. Right click on his/her desktop and choose “Personalize”. Access Sounds in bottom line to change all Windows sounds to a customized “fart” sound. (download Fart sound for free) When he/she came back to use the computer, any activity on the computer will make a fart sound loudly!

3. Install AthTek Voice Changer for Skype to his/her computer and drag the scroller to rightmost digit. Hide the program’s icon to taskbar. When he/she started a Skype call, his/her voice on the other side will sound like a little pussy. LOL

BTW, you can now apply for a free license for AthTek Voice Changer for Skype. Please read how to apply for a free license to get one!
